I am embarking on an in-depth reading for greater understanding, neigh, comprehension, of the document that originally set forth our nation's laws and government. This great document is largely misunderstood today, and in great thanks to the Progressive movement of long ago.
I hope that this effort will lead to clarity for all who read of the journey of understanding, and thereby will help in the grassroots efforts being started now to stand up to the corruption that is now the American government.
If you are truly interested in understanding the Constitution and how it functions in our government and judiciary, I would suggest picking up a copy of 'Constitutional Law: Principles and Policies" by Erwin Chemerinsky. It is THE definitive treatise on the state of Constitutional Law in this country. http://www.amazon.com/Constitutional-Law-Principles-Policies-Introduction/dp/073555787X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1239802641&sr=8-1
ReplyDeleteJust reading the Constitution is like reading the Bible: to get the deeper meaning you need to understand the background and the documents interpretation since its writing. Chemerinsky can help w/ that.
Good luck!
Great point, and thank you for the suggestion, Scott!
