Why not Mitt?

So, I've been studying the records and standing of our illustrious Republican candidates for President. Yet, what I found most disturbing is the flocking of people to what are potential disasters as President. Please keep in mind that it's not my intent to sway you toward any one candidate. Rather, I wish to give you things to consider as you make your choice on who gets your vote.

Today, I ask why you may want to reconsider a vote for Willard "Mitt" Romney. It's simple really, on two counts. First, Mr. Romney is a politician! I don't mean that he's been a Governor, he's a politician in every sense of the word. A simple Google search of the word provides the following: A person who acts in a manipulative and devious way, typically to gain advancement. Naturally, the most accepted definition is actually someone professionally involved in politics. (Click here for reference). Like most candidates, Romney has manipulated the wording and appearance of his decisions as Governor of Massachusetts. He quickly and easily rationalizes his flip-flopping record on various issues. So the problem here is that if you are one of the many Americans screaming that politicians are through, that they should be ousted from Congress or the Oval Office and replaced with real Americans providing us with real representation, then Romney is not your man.

Second, but closely related, Romney claims he's conservative, but then moderate, but then back again; oh wait, moderate. What? Indecisive for one; lukewarm for the other. I would rather the man come out and state he's a solid left-wing liberal, than claim himself a moderate anything. Why? Because lukewarm sucks! You never really know where a lukewarm person stands. Everything about being moderate screams HELL NO to me. In the definition of that word you find things like "average" and "less" (as in the lower end of any given spectrum). To be fair, some synonyms (but not words in the definition) are sober, temperate, and reasonable. Not necessarily bad adjectives, but you have to consider the man's record along with the word. He doesn't fit those last three.

I ask you, do you want another politician representing your interests from the Oval Office? Do you really want a lukewarm, uh, whatever he is in that big chair? I don't. I want a President with some guts and gusto, who will stand boldly for this country and defend us, not apologize for us (Mr. Obama)! Pick a side of the left-right spectrum and stick to it! That said, I'll caveat with this closing, I don't want and extreme nut in office either.

What say you America?

Where have all the patriots gone?

Republicans this, Democrats that! Congress, to include the failed debt committee, are far too focused on themselves as individuals and parties. Do the parties even provide any value to the government or the system as a whole? How about society? I am really thinking that they do not. They are self-licking ice cream cones, fat wallets, big mouths of hot air, and spoiled brats. All of 'em. They have forgotten what it means to be a patriot.

They have forgotten what real hard work is, and that the majority of Americans are all-too aware. Merriam-Webster defines a patriot as "one who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests." Let's break this down.

The first part is very straight forward and I would not dare question whether any of those in Congress love their country, assuming that their country really is the United States of America. I think you can love a country, or at least your selective parts of it, and not really be a patriot. That second half though, I think that part is where you see a stark difference; and it's here that I'll try not to get long-winded.

If a patriot is one who "supports...[[his country's]] authority..." then he must support the supreme law of the land. And what is that law? It is the Constitution of the United States of America! The vast majority of our Congress grew up with that knowledge. School teaching further deepened it. And yet, they are the ones making the laws that slowly, quietly, almost secretly destroy our supreme law! And those at the State level are just as guilty. They implement changes to education that have far reaching effects by distorting our children's views of freedom, capitalism, and the American dream (side note: the present version of the American dream is no longer the pure desire for liberty and justice that it once was).

As for supporting the country's interests, we are talking of our domestic interests in the way of education (most polls/estimates put the US at the middle of the road), economics (think debt super committee - failure), border security (well, that is for another time), etc. Now think about it, are we any better off in any of those areas? Have they improved over the last decade? Two? Three decades? That would be a resounding, NO! This would also include supporting America's foreign interests, too. Let's see, they want early withdraw from Iraq, Afghanistan, and pretty much anywhere the liberals cry we "invaded." They are pushing jobs, our jobs, off to foreign lands (and then asking why the unemployment rate is high). Oh my, I know I could go on, but I think we'll dive into each topic one at a time in the future.

In fact, feel free to let me know what you would most be interested in hearing about. I pray that you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

The Words of Pres Lincoln Resound

I have heard so many quotes in my time. Some have brought tears to my eyes, others...angry to my very core. So few truely stick with me, but this one, this one really caught me. As Barack Obama, or B.O. as I'll call him from here on out, continues his tour across the pond; and as he apologizes for things real Americans never asked our frontman to apologize for; and as he presumes to compare himself to one of the greatest men to ever hold the office of the President of the United States of America, perhaps he should sit and reflect on this following quote.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

Take note, NEVER BE DESTROYED FROM THE OUTSIDE! No, we will not be taken down by nations the likes of China, Iran, North Korea or others. They will never topple the USA of their own accord and abilities. Rather, we will weaken ourselves to such a degree as to be vulnerable all around, from the inside-out. We allow foreign nations to buy our land right here on home soil. We allow foreign companies, governments, and unknowns to contribute to the presidential and congressional campaigns of our non-representing representatives! We send our jobs away to far off lands for cheap labor; we do nothing to stop the massive influx of those entering this country illegally (and then we reward them with college tuitions and other such folly)!

AMERICANS! Real Americans! I beseech you, take notice of the internal damage you are causing or allowing to take place and begin fixing it. Write your congressmen, write to B.O., attend Tea Parties, and best of all, take to the streets and march all the way to Washington, D.C. and stand on the lawn of YOUR CAPITOL and take this great nation back!!!
